Concordia Music Center
Concordia Music Center
Inspiring the faculty and students of Concordia University, the renovation and addition of the Concordia Music Center will bring light to the quad and provide new resources for the nationally accredited Department of Music. The 46,500 square foot addition with tall, linear windows and modern precast panels is a $17.5 million project that includes state-of-the-art technology and adjustable acoustics to enhance the musical experience. Designed in association with HDR, the renovation and addition will contain 22 practice rooms and 13 teaching studios, a recording studio, and space dedicated to music therapy. Additionally, a Black Box theater will provide a first-class experience for performances. Flexible spaces present the opportunity for new programs to be offered by the University, including a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in music recording techniques.
Sinclair Hille Architects has a longstanding relationship with Concordia University and has enjoyed working alongside their leadership to enrich learning environments on their campus. In 2017 our firm had the pleasure of designing the Dunklau Center located southeast of the music building. For more information about the Dunklau Center, visit our projects page.
