Grace Lutheran Church

Grace Lutheran Church of Seward, Nebraska engaged the skills of Sinclair Hille Architects for the design of a new 8,500 SF worship facility.  In response to the Congregations’ request for a timeless design, Sinclair Hille developed a traditional exterior facade with an arched colonnade entry, gothic-shaped windows and entry, and gable roof lines with parapet accents. The building is a wood-framed structure with a brick face/ precast veneer. Colored split-faced concrete block features were integrated with the precast accents to create a very low maintenance exterior skin.

The new facility provides worship space, gathering / vestibule space, offices, classrooms, kitchen, and fellowship hall. The sanctuary includes a centralized lighting control system, exposed tongue and grove wood ceiling decking, and exposed stained concrete floors.

I enjoyed working with SHA on the Canopy Street Project.  It was a very complex project which required both large scale design thought as well as a focus on small details. Their professionalism impressed me as well as all of the other clients in the project from restaurants, to hotel operations through condo buyers, SHA continued to move the project forward and solve problems with all in mind.  As a licensed architect myself I really appreciated their willingness to partner with me and listen to my design ideas while improving the direction time and time again. Quite simply, Canopy Street would not have been nearly as successful without SHA’s talented staff.
