Keating O'Gara Law Firm Tenant Finish

Sinclair Hille Architects provided the interior architecture and design for the Keating O'Gara Law Office located in the Telegraph District in Lincoln, NE. Design choices were led by the clients’ goals of creating a “wow” factor to impress clients and recruit new lawyers with a bright, airy, elegant, and contemporary space.

The design team was allowed to be creative and step outside the box with fresh and innovative ideas. In the entry way, a waved metal panel behind the reception desk created a bold design statement that has a soft feel with strong durable material. Glass walls were incorporated to get natural light and create a light and airy feeling.

The wave feel was incorporated into the overall design and carried through to the conference room with drapery and a custom-designed chandelier. Sinclair Hille partnered with a local woodworker, Amos Approved, to craft bespoke conference tables of rift sawn oak and steel. The office corridor mimics the rhythm of the wave with expressed columns marching down the hall.

Furniture and finishes selected took on an airy and elegant look with light, warm and neutral finishes that elevate the design. A materials palette was created with options for each lawyer to customize their own office space in keeping with the overall parameters of the design. The lawyers could pick different carpet inlays, accent seating, and desk configurations to make each office unique but cohesive with the look and feel of the entire office.

A design challenge was presented with a structural column centered in front of the conference room window. Relocating the column would have been cost prohibitive. Instead, the column was incorporated into the design by building an angled wall to make the design of the column feel intentional. A semi-circular ceiling was incorporated to soften the angles of the room.

A large training room, designed to be adaptable for remote learning, was incorporated to host trainings for police officers and attorneys.

The project was well received by the client and achieved their goals of becoming a show piece for the Keating O'Gara Law firm.

I enjoyed working with SHA on the Canopy Street Project.  It was a very complex project which required both large scale design thought as well as a focus on small details. Their professionalism impressed me as well as all of the other clients in the project from restaurants, to hotel operations through condo buyers, SHA continued to move the project forward and solve problems with all in mind.  As a licensed architect myself I really appreciated their willingness to partner with me and listen to my design ideas while improving the direction time and time again. Quite simply, Canopy Street would not have been nearly as successful without SHA’s talented staff.
