Sinclair Hille Architects Announces Leadership Promotions

Sinclair Hille Architects is proud to recognize a significant moment of growth within the firm with the promotion of four team members into leadership roles, reinforcing its commitment to developing leaders from within.

Mike Stolle, AIA, and Michael Harpster, AIA, have been promoted to Principal. Nolan Schaefer, AIA, and Abbey Bettinger, IIDA, NCIDQ, have been promoted to Associate Principal. These promotions reflect the strength of the firm’s collaborative culture and the depth of talent across its team.

At Sinclair Hille Architects, leadership is built on a foundation of engaged listening, thoughtful design, and strong relationships. Each of these individuals brings a unique perspective and a deep dedication to both their craft and their colleagues. Their contributions continue to shape the firm’s work and the experience it creates for clients and communities. Their work can be seen across a wide range of projects throughout the firm’s portfolio.

New Principals

Mike Stolle, AIA – Principal

As a Project Architect, Mike brings a thoughtful and detail-oriented approach to every project. Mike co-founded and led a furniture design and manufacturing company, bringing a deep understanding of craft, construction, and how spaces are truly used. He values close collaboration with clients and enjoys solving complex problems through thoughtful, buildable design. Known for his attention to detail and hands-on approach, Mike is passionate about creating spaces that support people, perform well, and stand the test of time. He plays a key role in delivering projects with clarity and precision while supporting the success of those around him.

Michael Harpster, AIA – Principal

Serving as Lead Design Architect and Creative Director, Michael leads with vision and creativity. His ability to guide design concepts from idea to execution elevates the firm’s work and inspires both clients and team members. He is recognized for his strong background in affordable housing developments and his experience as a professor at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Architecture, reflecting his commitment to mentorship, design excellence, and lifelong learning

New Associate Principals

Nolan Schaefer, AIA – Associate Principal

In his role as Project Architect, Nolan brings strength to the early phases of design, helping translate client goals into clear architectural direction through programming, schematic design, and design development. With an academic background in both architecture and physics, Nolan approaches projects with a thoughtful, analytical mindset and a passion for creating spaces that serve and strengthen communities. His steady leadership and commitment to delivering skillfully contribute to the success of projects and the strength of the team.

Abbey Bettinger, IIDA, NCIDQ – Associate Principal

As an Interior Designer, Abbey brings creativity, curiosity, and a deep understanding of how people experience space. She is known for her thoughtful approach to materials, color, and detail, creating environments that are both functional and meaningful. Her work reflects a commitment to collaboration and inspired design.
