Food Bank of Lincoln

Food Bank of Lincoln Office and Distribution Center

Located in northwest Lincoln, the 58,000-square-foot energy-efficient facility will serve as the headquarters and distribution center for the Food Bank of Lincoln, supporting the southeast portion of the state. Designed with large windows, skylights, and LED lighting, the northeast corner of the building will welcome volunteers and staff into a bright, two-story entry space. Distribution trucks will access the facility from the west side through large loading docks, where a 40,300-square-foot area will be dedicated to food storage, including a freezer and cooler, allowing the Food Bank to handle larger donations of fresh produce and other nutrient-rich foods.

Sinclair Hille Architects was honored to provide design services for this important project. The goal was to create a facility that fosters collaboration, learning, and efficiency while reflecting the Food Bank’s core value of responsibility. Interior spaces include open offices, a classroom for educational programs, a community room, and a large breakroom, all designed to support volunteers, staff, and partners in their mission.

The building’s thoughtful layout and energy-efficient features enable the Food Bank to expand its operations and serve the community more effectively. With welcoming, functional spaces and flexible areas for both work and learning, the facility is designed to enhance operational efficiency and provide a hub for outreach, collaboration, and service.
