BraveBe

Child Advocacy Center

BraveBe Child Advocacy Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting abused children and their families across Southeast Nebraska. The center provides a safe, child-friendly environment for forensic interviews, medical evaluations, counseling, and advocacy services. Every aspect of BraveBe’s work honors the courage it takes for a child to come forward, prioritizing safety, dignity, and compassion while helping families begin the path toward healing.

The BraveBe campus was thoughtfully planned to feel welcoming, warm, and secure for all who enter. Inspired by a familiar farmhouse setting, the main building houses offices, interview rooms, counseling spaces, and medical services within a large white “farmhouse” featuring a wrap-around front porch. A smaller yellow building, designed as a training and gathering space, includes a conference room with cathedral ceilings, abundant natural light, and a full-service kitchen, supporting education and community outreach.

Completing the campus is a barn-style building that provides additional offices and training areas for advocates, medical professionals, and partner organizations, including the Lincoln Police Department Special Victims Unit. The lower level supports wellness and prevention efforts with a gym, showers, and training spaces. A recent expansion and renovation enhanced medical services, counseling areas, and added a Foster Care Closet—offering children a comfortable, supportive place with essential resources while awaiting placement with foster families. Together, the campus functions as a unified, healing environment designed to serve BraveBe’s vital mission.
