UNL City Campus Thermal Energy Storage Tank

Thermal Energy Storage tank and support building on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln City CampusSinclair Hille Architects served as Architect of Record for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln City Campus Thermal Energy Storage (TES) project, working with Olsson Associates as the Prime Consultant.

The project includes a new 8.15-million-gallon chilled water Thermal Energy Storage tank and a support building designed to house the equipment necessary to operate and maintain the campus cooling system.

The TES tank is approximately 100 feet tall and 120 feet in diameter. The adjacent support building features brick masonry and precast concrete construction that complements the architectural character of the UNL City Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The facility strengthens the university’s central utility infrastructure by improving chilled water capacity and supporting the continued growth of the campus.
