Tyler Morris

Architectural Summer Intern

Tyler Morris is an architectural intern entering his fourth year of architecture school, where he is also pursuing a minor in community and regional planning. His interest in design started early through sketching and creating, and has been strengthened by hands-on construction experience gained throughout high school and college.
At Sinclair Hille, Tyler is involved in a variety of project phases, supporting the team with design development, drafting, and modeling. His combined creative and technical background allows him to contribute meaningfully while gaining valuable, real-world experience in a collaborative studio environment.

What inspired you to pursue architecture or design?

One thing that inspired me to pursue architecture is that I have always been interested and passionate about creating and making things. Throughout high school and college being exposed to the construction process through working at Glass Edge, that passion for creating and sketching got formed into reality.

What hobby or activity are you passionate about outside of work?

I am very passionate about golf. I am fascinated with how topology of a course effects depth perception and how different trees and landscaping can help to frame different shots you hit around the course.

What’s your favorite part of the design process?

My favorite part of the design process is the early concept phase, which includes precedent searching, early concept sketching and massing models, and programming spaces. I feel like this is what excites me the most because the way I think, test, and improve is through sketching.
