What quote or mantra inspires you?
When I was in school, I heard a professor say that “design is a part of, and a reflection of, people’s stories”, and it’s stuck with me as a professional. When I’m designing, I think about how interior spaces can tell a story, while at the same time, be a setting for each occupant’s story to unfold. I think it’s really special to be a part of people’s stories in that way.
What is one thing on your bucket list you’re excited to check off?
One thing on my bucket list that I’m excited to check off is visiting every National Park in the U.S. My husband and I are big hiking enthusiasts and visit a handful of the parks each year, with a goal of seeing all sixty-three! I get a pin at every park I go to and put them on a map in our house.
What’s your favorite part of the design process?
My favorite part of the design process is getting to know our clients. I love learning about their various organizations and designing spaces that help them further their mission.
