Memorial Stadium West Addition

Sinclair Hille Architects was the prime consultant and Architect-of-Record for the West Addition and Renovation to Memorial Stadium on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Campus.

Design of the six-story addition reflects many of the visual elements of the original 1923 building. The multi-toned, precast concrete exterior, with its super-scaled arched windows and rhythmic pilaster ornamentation, envelop the expanded concourse and use the original West Stadium facade as an interior backdrop.

The six levels within the building include field level catering and support spaces, concourse level public concessions and restroom facilities, club level enclosed seating and special use viewing booths, and two levels of premium skybox suites. A special technology-supported press level provides space for over 200 media personnel.

The club level provides interior seating for almost 300 patrons and a 200 plus seating lounge / meeting space with spacious views across both the western prairie-scape and eastern Lincoln skyline. The 42 skybox suites each have a capacity of 20 patrons and include a two-tiered seating area, lounge space, private restroom, and a kitchen alcove.

The Concordia University Team has always worked through the design process with Sinclair Hille’s leadership and come away feeling like our project priorities were understood. Setting overall project goals in the initial design meeting with Sinclair Hille has proven to be a key to our success.
